Based in London, John is a graduate of the University of Salford where he studied a BA (Hons) in Media and Performance (2002).
In 2003, John appeared in Skint Productions’ Guts at the Edinburgh Festival, which received rave reviews and was long listed in The Stage Ensemble awards. He then worked with the company for 3 successive New York International Fringe Theatre Festivals until 2007.
Recently John's acting roles have grown starring alongside Marc Warren (Hustle) as the comic support in the multi award winning feature film, Do Elephants Pray?, as well as two Shorts - Hammered written by and starring Noel Clarke (Kidulthood, Adulthood and Doctor Who) and the Irish Film, A Sporting Jaunt.
In theatre, John is currently performing to rave reviews in Shakespeare's King John as Hubert and has performed The Shoemakers Holiday in the Royal Shakespeare Company's outdoor space, 'The Dell' with Blacksun Theatre and has also recently performed in The Man of Mode at the Bridewell Theatre.
John has worked extensively in the voiceover field; he was lead announcer during the high profile re-branding of Virgin 1, part of the award winning ITV2 Continuity team (receiving the Digital Channel of the Year award 2008), live announcer for the terrestrial channel, Five and can also be regularly heard on Discovery Turbo. John also voices promos for various TV channels and corporate narrations ranging from Cartoon Network to History.
Recently, he has begun to develop his writing and is currently working on an animated comedy named Johnnie & George. This will be animated by Liza Rhea who was this year selected by BAFTA as part of its inaugural 'Brits to Watch'.
Accents include Lancashire, Manchester, London, Cockney, West Country and RP.
John is a friendly, malleable, consistent performer with a cheeky northern hint to his voice and he is regularly re-employed on these factors.
